Didn't you say that you have fertilzed the vanda once since October? One a week with a good orchid fertilizer is more like it. I water weakly almost evey watering. It may be turning yellow from lack of food.
If you put it in the large clear plastic container with bark as suggested, you may be risking rot. You would need many holes, if you do. They are much better in a basket with some air circulation to dry the roots, but if it is bare root it can be difficult to provide enough humidity. Mine has sphagnum and large lumps of charcol and only needs watering every few days during the summer, depending on how dry the media is, with
misting in between. I water about once a week in the winter, Basicly let it just dry out, not bone dry, then give it a good soaking.
