Default omg noooo

OMG i need someone's help...my poor schilleriana has just started growing a spike it was 3/4 of an inch long until i looked just now and the growing tip is completely gone i am fit to be tied here...will it grow back..it was my first ever spike i'm bout ready to cry here! someone plz help me

Growing tip? Do you mean the "mitten" part of the spike?
It's possible the plant will send another one up.

Yes the very end of it..poor spike was only 3/4 in long ..now only 1/2 in long. Is there any hope for that spike at all please and thankyou hun?

mattyran, this just happened to me with an equalacea seedling. I so feel your pain. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Frequently if the conditions for spiking are right, they'll just send up a new one. The answer is to have dozens more orchids so that the loss of one spike tip isn't such a tragedy!
Might be worth checking around for slugs, snails or mice...

a few months ago I broke a tiny spike (half an inch maybe) on a No ID Phal - it went on to produce 3 spikes at the same leaf axis as the broken spike, as well as a spike from an opposite leaf axis
Can't say yours will definitely produce another spike (or more) but there is a possibility it will ...

I once forgot I placed a phal on the table with the spike hanging over the edge, and in a rush to walk by, I broke the spike. And I didn't realize it until a few hours later, when I looked back at my phal, and thought, "Uh oh..." We've all had those moments.

Here Here to the 'we've all had these moments' - about 10 days ago I broke the (1/2") top off a 2.5" phal spike while I was trying to stake it. I'd just got back from work, wasn't concentrating and probably left it a bit too long to do it in the first place (work has been hectic lately!!). So, you're seriously not alone on here and fingers crossed both of ours pull through with a new one

I was photographing my Sophronitis coccinea recently. I dropped it. Broke off one growth with bud, broke off another bud, and damaged the flower that was open. It definitely happens to all of us!

I was moving my plants around after I brought the outdoor ones in, and I broke a beautiful cascading inflorescence on one of my phal hybrids. After shedding a few tears, I put the spike in a vase, added "flower food" and enjoyed it for about 3 weeks.
The original plant is sending up another spike from the node below the break.
