Correction:

You can find Phyton 27 at Orchids Limited (Buy Orchids and Orchid Supplies).

Sorry.

Minda,

You may have heard about larger growing operations using such solutions more regularly. For example, a commercial orchid greenhouse near me goes through so much sphagnum moss that they keep a large container of dampened moss on hand. They moisten the moss with a water/physan 20 solution to prevent any problems. I've also heard of growers using a bit of physan in large water storage tanks.

I guess it can be confusing for us home growers to hear things like that, but for our purposes, physan 20 is really only an "as needed" chemical in response to a problem- not a prophylactic agent.

Just to clarify, when I say I don't use physan for prophylaxis, I'm talking with respect to administering it to plants, not as a cleaning agent for tools.
