The most useful tool for me other than all the obvious is I'm learning how to be a more friendly individual bec of all the nice people at the OB forum.

thank you

Hmmm...I add 3cc of vodka per gallon in my fertilizer. No joke. Step back and watch the roots grow!!

RJ: you are not alone!!

Re: the topic at hand. I dunno. Hmmm.. I suppose I've learned lots of valuable things.

BUT, I think the most valuable thing I've learned is this: this is place full of good people and great friends, some whom I will never meet, but with whom I share a passion that is not understood by many. I know people will "get it" when I'm upset about a broken spike or a lost or sick plant. Sometimes life gets crazy, and then I show up to chat, and I start talking about this or that plant, or commiserating about life in general, and then I forget why I was upset--and then I say, it's not so bad after all. And that, my friends, is priceless.

When I go to the link it says its broken and I would be interested in photo stacking. I did try one German software for it, but can't remember the name.

I meant to add that cinnamon was very helpful. Also just read about the vodka. Is that 3cc to a gallon of water? I also read in a post that coconut water helps stimulate growth and I am sure it is responsible for 7 new growths on an almost dead cattleya. They are still very small but green and alive! I found that amazing!

Glad you are part of the community RJSquirrel!!

'Bottom heat' - I'm assuming this is providing heat from below?? Sounds interesting but how do you do it? (e.g. heat mat, lighting, radiator?!? )

The reason I ask is my current rescue project phal (one not so careful owner now one sympathetic owner!) is practically rootless and, with winter comming up here, I'm worried the little pot it's in won't dry out quick enough.

Yes, you heat from below using a heating mat-- specifically a seed germination mat. Mine are made by hydrofarm. It is advertised to raise the temp 10-20 above the ambient room temp. Works like a charm-- especially for warm-growing plants.

Thanks, I thought it'd be a mat, but you never know on here

(also just seen how I spelt 'coming' with two 'm's, I really am due for a winter rest!)
