Noid Dendrobium and Noid (Miltonia?) - Orchid Board

So this is a funny story.

I was at my best friends house for a movie party last night and her mom has Orchids and I haven't had a Dendrobium before so I took off a piece with two older stalks and a new growth and lots of healthy roots. So will this new growth continue to grow? It came off the half of the plant that was just old canes and no leaves. Then, she also had one which looked like a Miltonia it has new growth, leaves, good roots, but the p-bulbs are severly wrinkly I am almost a hundred percent this one will grow because it has everything. Am I correct? Any help is greatly appreciated! I am in the process of putting pics up. They don't want to upload and I am getting real mad! Does anyone know whats going on?

P.S. Don't tell the mom I stole some of her Orchids! LOL

...bad man!!!!

I have had no luck getting any dendrobium keiki(?) to do anything but die off slowly, even with good aerial rootage...I quit trying to separate them bec I dont think they take well to it. They seem to do fine now in the compot of all the dens I've had...I leave them alone, they do this..go figure

Don't give up hope. Den keiki's grew very well for me. It took a while until it got big enough to bloom, though. They need minimum of three canes, and five is better.

It has 2 previous older canes with o leaves and a new growth about 3/4 of an inch tall. So both these Noids are growing and the dormant root buds on the Den. have begun sprouting green growing tips!

If they were Nobile dedrobiums they may have just lost their leaves already which is normal in the fall or winter. I think both plants will grow.

They were older canes that have been cut off to about 8 inch stubs.

So I know this was a long time ago too but I thought I would show you guys the pics of them when I first got them and now. The first two are when I first got them and the last two are today. Thanks for the help and sorry for late pics. The first pic is the Den. And the second is the (what I think) Miltonia.

The second picture of the Den. shows how much it has grown since I first got it. It's grown this much because I put a plastic bag over it (for humidity) and I stuck in our 225 gallon saltwater tank (not in it, just on a plastic shelf to the side),the tank has: 2-6.5 foot compact flourescents, and 2-250 watt metal halide bulbs (causing the heat) that are on for a couple hours a day. The temp and the humidity was high which I think made the plant think it's summer and growing season. There was a light green patch on the back of one the old canes that popped out turned out to be a new growth after being in the "tank" for two weeks. The other new growth is now 2 inches tall and all the roots have got green growing tips. I think this was a success lol. The Miltonia(?) hasn't grown much because it's just in the normal growing season and not in the tank with the Den. Lol.
