Well done. you obviously have a green thumb ( or as we say this side of the pond, green fingers!) They both look healthy, but I think you should go carefully on the pinching of "freebies!" Apart from any moral issues about taking without permission, you might inadvertently weaken the parent plants and cause it to die. And in any case, most growers are happy to donate cuttings to enthusiasts, try asking if there's a next time, I'm sure she'd be happy to encourage your hobby
