It's closing in on that time in the next few weeks in my zone to bring the orchids back indoors from the glorious vacation outside this summer. This is the first year I've done this (well worth it for sure!)
I'm wondering how others on this board deal with pest management. With my houseplants that I keep outdoors for the summer I usually incorporate a granular systemic into the potting soil as well as spray down the foliage with a insecticide containing rosemary oil a few times before actually bringing them inside.
I would love if anyone has any past success stories they could share. I'm thinking the granular systemic might not be a good idea to put into the orchid bark?
Hello Curtis. When mine come in I dip them with a good contact pesticide. Unfortunately the pesticide I use, diazinon' is no longer available for sale due to USDA restrictions. But I am sure others will chime in with what they use.
