Are you using a firewall at home? Such as Zone Alarm?

Then I have no clue. I know it's frustrating and I know you feel all alone, 'cause I have been there lots of times with this board. It's just that right now all is sweet for me. For what it's worth, I don't think it is the browser (didn't turn out to be the problem for any of my woes) but could still be the firewall/internet security. Rather than turn it off, try adding OrchidBoard into the trusted sites - not sure how to do that with Norton (I gave up on those guys years ago) but I had to do that with Zone Alarm, to get pages to display correctly. Slow page display usually means "somebody is checking something" if you know what I mean.

I'll dig around in Norton and see what I can find. It's weird though a few weeks ago before the server switch I wasn't having this problem.

Hi everyone, I'm back! I'm using Windows XP and it did not like the latest IE7 update that was auto installed last weekend....IE7 would not allow me to browse. My computer tech said lots of people are having this problem. I've been told that IE7 was apparently created for use with Vista... long in advance, and not for XP, so be careful out there everyone! I could never get my scanner to work 100% with IE7 either. Anyway I'm back with IE6 and everything is working beautifully again....I use Norton and even though I uninstalled it, I still had the problem and more....everything started to freeze up. Obviously it wasn't a Norton problem!
Nice to be back!!

Woohoo!
Glad to have you back Helen
I have heard that about IE7 .. that is compatiable for Vista and not XP ..
Too bad they don't tell you these things ahead of time!
It would save a lot of time and frustration.
Well with that behind you!
Welcome back!

Good to see your back all fixed up, Helen

Now that I think about it .. there were 2 updates to the IE7 - The first update was very quick to install. I did have problems with that. I uninstalled this.

Few weeks later yet another update started, a much longer version, that I've kept.
I've not had any problems with the 2nd update in the last 2 weeks. I'm running XP.

Don't understand this. I use Win XP and IE7 with NO problems I am suspecting going back to IE6 is a workaround, not a solution. There is something else affot here. Problem with IE6 is it's no longer supported by Microsoft, so no updates. Maybe that's a good thing
