Should I pitch the orchid and get another?
My situation is that one of my orchids appears to have a fungus issue, and as of this morning only 2 old leaves are not reddish brown and dying. I used a cinnamon mixture yesterday to try and save the plant. It is a Mtssa CM Fitch (Izumi).
My question is, with all of the growth being affected other than two old leaves, should I give up and pitch it? I found a dealer that has them so I could easily replace it, but I'm also the type of person that loves to save plants whenever possible as it's very rewarding.
What do you guys think? Pitch and buy a new one, or keep my fingers crossed?

I repotted it in fresh medium about 1 1/2 weeks ago. The roots all looked healthy, but the medium had white spots on it. After repotting it and bringing it inside to a more controlled environment it got a lot worse, and fast.
From what I could tell, the roots look healthy though.

Others might join in and disagree with me but...
since the repotting was so recent and you're having trouble, I would unpot it again, spray the entire plant with regular Listerine (store brand is fine), let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it well. Then pot it up with fresh media in a clean pot and keep an eye on it.

Listerine! WOW, really?! LOL... OK, I do have to go the grocery store today so I will be sure to pick some up.
Thank you so much for your suggestion cb977!

Please call me Sue...all my friends do
You can get the store brand, it'll be cheaper...but don't get the minty blue or green ones. The original "brown"...my work table is never without my sprayer of it

You may have bacterial rot and fungal rot on your plant.
Is the pot larger than the root mass?
How's the drainage in that pot?
What are the temperatures of your growing area?

Actually you've got bacterial rot on your plant.
How often do you water?
Do you have pics of the plant's roots?
