Phal Spike Decided to Start Growing Again!

I have a NOID phal that has been in bloom since the end of January. It only has 2 flowers on it as DS forgot to water it when we were on vacation. I started up a new fertilizer routine a few weeks ago, and Sunday when I was doing the weekly watering I noticed that the spike had all at once started growing again. It looks like it is developing buds but they are too small to tell if they will be flowers or Keiki yet. Has anyone else had this experience before? I thought it was very odd.

My phal did this when I gave it a strong dose of superthrive. It bloomed twice after the initial bloom. However, the flowers from the last bloom were smaller, and the colors were muted.

I currently have 2 spikes in limbo. No buds, no death. Hopefully they will do something, I don't care which, and I don't like putting my orchids under the knife. But after gaining recent knowledge, I may have no choice by June 1st. I did have one of these limbo spikes throw out a secondary spike, but the plant was busy making a seed pod and nothing came of it.

OK, the two flowers from January are folding up and getting ready to drop and the end of that same spike is continuing to grow and it appears as though there are flower buds forming. Weird. I've had secondary spikes start off of a node, but never had the end of a flowering spike all of a sudden start growing again after flowers were set.

i have a noid yellow i am taking care of for our daughter till she gets moved into her new place that is doing the same i would say that it is just a happy plant

I have one white phal that lost its end buds. Those few dried up and fell off. Since I have been fertilizing, the end of the spike turned bright green and is budding again. So it had a conditional lag - some kind of shock possibly from transport, tempature etc - and now it's growing again. I think it just got happy, too! Made me happy, also!

I've had a Phal. NOID that, every year will bloom and as soon as the first blooms start to die, the end of the spike starts growing again. Last year it doubled the length of the original bloom and doubled the bloom time. It was however, done blooming by late spring. This year I got 2 spikes, look at my avitar pic. and they did the exact same thing as last year, just not as long of a new growth as last year. But hey I can't complain when she put out 2 spikes! So yes I have seen this, I have a Phal. that does this. Is it common, I don't know.

OK, thanks for the input guys. Guess it's not so weird after all. Maybe just a little unusual.
