I've just come back from a 6 week holiday to find that the last flower on my Keikis on the weird "Super Phal" has finally wilted! (this last flower first opened in june last year)! the time has come to take these off the flower stem & repot.. The roots are now very long (16 cms) !
Can anyone advise on how to get them off the flower stalk without actually cutting it ? As the stalks are still very green and have other flower buds forming at the end of the 2 stems ....
I Know I'm going to have to soak the Keikis a LONG time to get them to bend into a pot.....
What an amazing plant!! I believe you cut it away from the spike behind the roots without cutting the parent. I have not done this yet myself, and defer to those on this board who are much more knowledgable.
Congrats on an awesome plant and best of luck
