You can buy orchid mix, which usually consists of bark, coconut chips and more times than not, perlite. I wouldn't buy the miracle grow "orchid mix" because it truly isn't the best, and buying bark from a nursery would prove to be better. As for a pot, any that has good drainage. Most regular pots would work well, but I prefer clear pots so that I can see the roots, and see if I need to water or not. (Because you can see the humidity in the pot it is easier to tell)

You will want to soak the medium for 24 hours, then repot. I use boiling water to kill anything that might be in the bark, and then just let it sit for the remaining time.

I hope this helps!

It's possible that after you get all the moss off the roots you will be able to reuse the plastic pots they are in now. Be sure there are plenty of drain holes.

As Marydanielle mentioned, clear pots are popular because you can tell if you need to water by watching how much condensation is on the inside of the pot.

Orchids are not like house plants. You don't need to go up a size when you repot. As long as you can fit the roots in the pot, it should be fine. Just fill in around the roots with the bark and shake it to settle it in. As you water it will work it's way into the open spaces.
