Question for Dorothy Female

Thank you both for all the information and pronounciation!!! I am so excited to look for these on Saturday. I am sure one of the larger greenhouses around here will have something that I like. Mike keeps telling me that we are only going this weekend to get supplies, but I don't think he would be able to say no to something as unique as this one.

D, I was in Grand Cayman the end of January and I think I must have seen these at the botanical gardens. All of the trees there had catts growing in every nook and crannie. They weren't blooming at that time, but I can remember being surprised at how many of them there were and how well they were doing in a not so friendly environment. (Very hot, windy, and somewhat dry for the Caribbean) It's a beaut that's for sure.

There's a big Spring Into Summer Sale at Byrd's Orchids in Lakeland on June 2...the vendors will be Byrd's (of course), B&D Orchids, Featherstone Orchids & Preston's Flower Pots.

I'll post address info a little later today

Now I know why I would want to live in Florida and it's not for the weather! or the 'canes!

Cool ! Terri .. I would love to see them in their natural habitat .. now if I could just stop spending money on plants and save for a vacation!!!

I had a sister that lived in Jax for quite a few years .. she got so use to the weather .. but .. I like it cool!

Hi Dorothy!

I'm a big Schom fan myself
I don't know if you already have it or not but I thought I'd recommend a super book that I find really useful in growing and indentifying them.
It's called " The Cattleyas and their relatives Vol 3. Schomburgkia, Sophronities, and other South American Genera" By, Carl L. Withner.

I love this book! The pictures and info are super!
