Yes, I did mean using some sort of wire I guess to pull the branches downwards- especially those which are growing up the plant. I'm really hesitant about breaking them off and putting them in the same pot, as I think that would mean I couldn't show it in the future. Similarly, I'm not upping the light as the leaves are an AMAZING (only capitals will do!) colour right now!. Thanks so much for all your suggestions, if I work something out I'll post back a photo of my contraption!

What's your definition of "AMAZING" color for leaves? It could be that you're good to go, as you say. That would be splendid.

You may be able to help train it without increasing the light. If the light is coming from a window, or a directional source on the side, you can rotate the plant so that it grows towards that light, and help it into a shape more like what you want. Does that make sense? It would be a good supplemental help, in any case. Wouldn't hurt to try.

It's the same technique that growers use to make that spiraly bamboo. (or one way, at least)
