Hello kjackson – marydaniellesantos has it right! Phalaenopsis orchids tend to bloom for several weeks to several months and one thing to keep in mind is no two orchids are alike. Although your orchid is experiencing flower loss, this does not necessarily mean it is dead; rather, it is simply entering into a dormant stage of rest. You may want to make sure the roots are not constantly wet or sitting in standing water at the bottom of the pot, as that will definitely cause problems with the orchid flowers. New flower buds will not form on an old orchid flower spike that has turned yellow or brown, if this happens, the entire spike should be removed. Hope this help!
