I've bought a lot of orchids from Norman's over the years, and I've been very pleased with the quality.
That said, I ALWAYS repot ANY orchid I buy from ANY source immediately when I get it. I water the way I water, and I pot the way I pot. By the same token, every other grower waters the way they water and pots the way they pot. Expecting the two to be the same is dangerously presumptuous.
Of course, I learned this the way everyone does - by injuring or killing lots of plants...

UKCat and Rosie, yeah, that's kind of what I thought too. It doesn't *look* like a sick plant. I think I just got freaked out and paranoid because I lost about 7 leaves to the yellowing and dying off all in the course of about 2 weeks. I have moved it to a brighter spot and will be more diligent about fertilizing, and hopefully will have some amazing pics to share when it blooms!

And yes, lesson learned - repot immediately upon arrival. Thanks everyone for your input!
