Problem? Just Arrived Phal. amboinensis Male
Default Problem? Just Arrived Phal. amboinensis

Today I received my Phal and two of the leafs were bent in two. The one you can see threw part of it and the other is almost as bent. Being a newbie, I need to ask the questions, how bad is this, what and how will this affect it down the road, is there anything I can do to help it?

I don't think this will harm the plant. Looks like it maybe wasn't packed well for shipping ? Idk.

My favorite phal from my collection has a few leaves that are split/cracked like those in your picture. They don't harm the plant at all - other than being an aesthetic blemish there's no harm done at all.

If you're concerned about the wound being a possible site of infection/fungal attack, you could treat with stoprot.

I think the plant will recover. Hope you let the vendor know he/she can't pack a plant for beans.

That makes me feel better! Not having a bunch of experience getting plants threw the mail I did not know other than that the plant looks good and healthy.

that's interesting - the plants I have got from them have always been well packed - could be someone new doing the packing - definitely let them know - send the pix ...

The packing was not hideous, but, the two leafs were bent over and pushed or packed down against itself.

I have ordered well over a hundred plants shipped to me over the years and none of them have ever had that much damage.
A phone call might help them out.
If it were my business, I would want to know and would appreciate the feedback.

That's careless packing. Let them know about it. It's easily preventable.
