I often do things like that. For example I have an unknown orchid that looks somewhat like Phal Brother Sara Gold. I call mine just Phal Sara Gold with a marker to show that it is not a real name. I have another that looks like Phal Baldan's Kalaeidoscope and I just call mine Phal Kalaeidoscope again with a marker to indicate I've made up the name.

I don't want any of my orchids to feel left out so they all get a name of some type
