Hello, I'm a first time poster needing help with Rothchildum's leafs:

Hello I've been reading posts here for a while and recently my Rothchildum's leafs have been doing something weird, the older leafs look like the green color is draining out of the tips of the leafs. I've included a picture here:



If anyone has any idea whats happening please tell me.

My first thought was burn, tho maybe fungus ? If it's just one or two of the oldest leaves could be natural shedding - tho I don't know if it would look like that.
Hopefully some members with more experience than myself will chime in soon

I have this plant in bowl of sphagnum moss that I water daily with a good quality water, I try to keep it always moist as the person i bought it from told me too. I give it fertilizer once a week with a fairly dilute solution ( its a Miracle grow fertilizer that says its for orchids). Other than that I just try and keep it continuously moist.

I had a similar problem with most of my paphs and phrags and my friends here on OB figured out for me that it was fertilizer burn. I was fertilizing "weakly, weekly" with rather hard water.
Here's what the tips looked like:
Since I started using rain water and fertilizing once a month, all of the new fans are a lovely green out to the tips.

I don't know what type of orchid this is ? But looks like it could be in a smaller pot. Also - you said it's in a bowl - is there drainage? And sphag retains a lot of moisture, and the way your plant is potted it is probably staying much to wet with daily waterings.
