Well, I did it. I have bid on two plants from shermantp. I like the plants, and I like it that he gives a thorough description of each plant. I'll post if I win them.

i just received two orders from this company in hawaii. they were just outstanding plants, and very inexpensive. can't recommend them enough. shipping is 30 but with several plants it can be justified. i ordered with neighbors to keep shipping low.i ordered on Saturday, arrive on Wednesday. not a leaf broken, over half the plants are in spike and are full, full full!!! great

why cant you recomend them? i think it might have been kawomoto. i ordered from them, they are in hawaii. and my order got here in 3 days after i paid. the shipping was not 30 dollars, but my plant wasnt huge

Hi there Connie. Here's my one cent opinion:

Barvado--I'll never buy from them again. I got two diseased plants from them.

Bandbandmandt--fantastic!!! Very unusual plants and great quality.

Shermantp--also great--he carries unusual species sometimes.

Jewel Orchids--the two plants I've received were in great health--would order again.

BillAsia--wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.


Others who are my favorites are CzChaz for rupicolous Laelias, 4331 Steven is THE Laelia God, Topmacsniper is Ruben in Orchids--he has a Phd. in Orchid Taxonomy and is a good grower...ummmmmmmm...let's see, who else? OrchidsbyEli carries unusual hybrids--he makes them himself and he also sometimes sells unusual species.

Odoms and Waldor orchids are also on Ebay but I don't recall their ID.

If you want to go off ebay, I highly recommend White Oak Orchids out in California and of course, SBOE.



ETA: I also recommend SVO Orchids. They are boutique growers of Catts and I believe the famous "black" catasetum. The catt hybrids I ordered from them were in great condition.

shermantp - purchased two plants from him, both were very large and very healthy and they are doing great.

bill_asia - got a bare root plant, looked horrible, and I am trying to bring it to life again, but it will likely be a few years before it blooms, if that.

I have purchased 2 beautiful orchids from "orchidtn" and both were huge and were in spike.

I also purchased from nia22d and she had nice plants and we had to stay in contact because of a shipping error, where I got someone else's plant (which was lovely and I wish I could have kept, but wouldn't have felt right), anyway, she paid return shipping back to her, and sent the original plant of my order. She had some smaller sizes, but they have really done well for me.

I look forward to looking through these others sellers that others have listed!!! How fun!
