Camille, the fuzzy little things on the roots are actually part of the root normal anatomy. I don't know their anatomical name, but those things help the orchid to hang to the tree.

I didn't think about that. Since I don't have any mounted phals I never got to see the purpose of those 'hairs'.
Mine must have roots that are desperately trying to get out of the pot and up into a tree!
I'd better keep an eye on them, lol!
