Phals in Primeagra Male
Default Phals in Primeagra

Yesterday I put my 2 phals in primeagra but not using s/h culture. They are sitting in 4.5 inch pot with 8 holes in the bottom. I am confused on how to water in pimeagra and my phals are outside in a shady location.

How many times is the safe method to water my phal?

Thank you.

I would think the water will pretty much run right through your media, so it would almost be like having it on a mount. You'll probably be watering every day or so.

I agree with Bill. It wont hold much water but you could try watering ever other day for starters and see how it responds and go from there. As least there will be no medium break down to deal with.

I use the clay pellets as a potting medium until the time is right to convert to S/H.

I use clear plastic pots and watch the condensation on the inside to give me an idea of when to water.

I agree with Bill and Ted, it's more like being mounted and you will probably water more often at first.

The plants don't seem to mind because of the good drainage and air flow. It would be hard to overwater.

Hmm, like the idea of using the clay pellets as a medium while you wait for the plant to be ready to go to S/H. I have a couple of cheap Phals I'm thinking of trying in S/H and I may well do that first until they are growing roots.

Just to protect my trademark: I have never shipped PrimeAgra to the Philippines, so it is some other sort of LECA.

Hi Ray,

It was purchased by a friend of mine in the US and brought it to me when He got here. There are some LECA available here in the Philippines but since some reviews I read about the outstanding effects of Primeara, I decided to try it.

Cool! Thanks for the clarification.

I try to discourage folks in far-away lands from buying it - shipping is just WAY too expensive!
