Most reed stems epis grow like weeds as long as they get enough sun. Course bark and charcoal should be just fine as long as your water and fertlizer practices give it what it needs, and it gets that bright light.

What does it need fertilizer and water wise? Does it like to dry out between watering? Does it need a dormant period? And what isthe temperature range? How long can u keep it outside! |

I think reed stem epidendrums should not dry out - no pbulbs to store water ...
I fertilze mine the same as my other orchids. Mine tolerant being outside in winter here, so as low as low 40s for short periods anyway. Tho I am not sure if that holds for all.

it just says they are forgiving with watering, it doesnt say what is ideal though. but everything else is covered

lol, almost all the questions you've asked are answered in the link I posted. 
Don't worry, these guys take a load of abuse.
As it says, they're tolerant of watering frequency and soil quality. You water them the same as cattleyas- let them dry out between copious waterings. Mine grows allllmost on the dry side and thrives.
