Most reed stems epis grow like weeds as long as they get enough sun. Course bark and charcoal should be just fine as long as your water and fertlizer practices give it what it needs, and it gets that bright light.

What does it need fertilizer and water wise? Does it like to dry out between watering? Does it need a dormant period? And what isthe temperature range? How long can u keep it outside!
