I have been watching this growth on an old Den. cane,is this a keikis? I've never had one before could this be IT!!??

Woops...the link didn't work. I'm not very good at this. My thread was titled Would you call this a speiki and was posted last September. Before photos showed a growth looking very much like yours. My growth started out looking like a keiki but rapidly spiked and bloomed.
