Hi, new orchid enthusiast
Hello All, I am a newbie orchid grower from Bangalore. I have a few NOID dendrobiums, phals and few Indian species. I grow my orchids on an East facing balcony and all my plants seem to be growing well so far and if I have a problem I know can always search Orchid Board for solutions!

The first pic is a view from my balcony of monsoon clouds. The chid with a spike is my first re-bloom - Den Inthuwong X Trudy Brandt that I got without a flower last Nov, so I am eagerly waiting to see how the flowers look! The other plants on the table are Vanda coerulea and Vanda stangeana respectively. The mounted orchid is Den jenkinsii, and the scraggly plants on the shelf next to a NOID phal are Den falconeri and devonianum.

Thanks Trdyl, Carol and Natasha for the kind words!Carol I am growing these in a mix of charcoal and coconut husk chips with a little bit of moss on top to keep the moisture as we have a dry and cool climate here in Bangalore. We get these in 1 Kg bags here at plant nurseries. I am using these baskets that are normally used inside kitchen shelves because I need to keep the plants out of reach my curious cat. I will post a pic of the little rascal next time !

Nice to meet you! I would love to have monsoon clouds and orchids on an east facing balcony! I do have a west facing window though that I am managing well with, and an east facing that isn't quite set up for orchids, but I'm trying to make do the best I can
Nice to meet you! From a fellow newbie and orchid lover
