thank you all for these wonderful informations . i will keep it out of the direct sun for some time and also try the soak and dry method too. usually i just pour iut water ...

hi and thanks for your reply . where did u get your orchids from .. and my balcony is a direct bright sun facing one no trees and i am on the fifth floor ..is it ok

Hi Elsa,
I am no expert on orchids, just a newbie like you! East facing is supposed to be good because then the plants get morning sun which is not too hot. Dendrobiums, the plant which you have one of, enjoy good sunlight. If the leaves are turning yellow either watering is less or too much sunshine. You need to get the plant into bright sun gradually.
