Please help me with my problem, The rainy season has just began and recently I've noticed some black mold in my Vanda roots.. Is it very serious? What should I do to stop from spreading? I will appreciate your help..

To prevent such things I use a brew-up(decoction -I don know how to translate this word correctly, when you put he plant in boiling water) from the plant named (in latin)Eguisetum arvense and then spray the plant with it... But I am not sure weather this plant is available in your contry...

It could be available dried in the drug store/chemist.

If not a extract from onion or garlic could help to prevent the mold from spreading. (I use it quite often too)

Try to asure the roots dry out quicky. And you will see weather the black molds are spreading.

You could try Phyton 27 and Cleary 3336 if you really wanted to kick the crap out of it! You would have to have an idea of exactly what you are trying to kill though...or you could just treat with each a few days apart.
After loosing a few too many root systems over the years and trying easily accessible "things"; I bought the big guns.
This works for me

Is it possible that it's algae growing on the roots? Is your plant bare-root, or potted? Pix are always helpful

To WhiteRabbit, It is bare-root and I think it's algae. Because this morning when I water I used a Q-tip and the algae seems to be removing. There are some green algae too..Is the black one harmful? I'm worried because this is my favorite Vanda..

I don't think it's harmful - but I can't positively say. I think it blackens when it dies - tho I could be completely wrong lol. I do get black looking algae in my pots, and it hasn't seemed to be a problem other than looking bad ...
