if you would like to increase the humidity, i found that grouping plants can help well if the air circulation is taken into consideration. this will help create a microclimate.
where i live, in the tropics that's it, the humidity is good, but still, we do try to increase in really hot days. i have two pots of lotus and a waterlily just to help me in this. i found my vanda, with on top of the waterlily pot have aerial roots about 2 ft long!
when watering, i drench my plants, though i don't think this is advisable in temperate climate. if it rains or mild weather, then i don't water for the next day. if its hot and dry, then i water everyday. the idea is for the plants to develop deeper roots.
i just use the
misting option in the sprayer after showering them just to make sure the nooks and crannies get some water...
