So, dumb question here. Is there any possible way to tell if youv'e never seen it bloom?Maybe a cane difference? I have too many dends, I'm growing less than a year,and really confused. Most have no names. one I know is queen of south east. About 6 of those loaded with keikis. I will look tomorrow as I think 3 other ones are named.I read and read and just get more lost on this Dend thing. Hope I'm not the only one :-) Gladys

That is not a phal type.
Something tells me that it isn't a nobile type either because of the canes and spike. It might be in another section or hybrid between two different sections

Yes there is a cane difference....
Phal types have harder leaves and tough canes.
Nobile types have tender leaves and more pliable canes.

It is definitely not a nobile. But the flower doesn't look like phal type either.

Well this makes things complicated. Damian, I don't remember anything about the development of the flower. It was way too long ago and it was my first orchid, along with two others.

OK, So that I can add to my mass confusion, here are 3 of the named dends i have;
D.Sanan White x D. Burana White,
Den.MaKaEiki x UdomSriConcert
and, Queen South East.
I copied exactly like on the tag.Easily readable so should be correct.I have never seen them bloom. Aquired around christmas. Anyone know what type? I did Google but only got more confused.I think maybe I'm just trying to hard to undrestand ,making it harder than it is.I promise i am reasonably intelligent! (Whatever that is ?) Thanks for your patience with my hard head. Gladys

No problem Tindo Just wondered as my white hybrid NOID den is growing a spike on the cane it grew over the past few warm months [here in Australia] and I'm impatient for it to bloom!
