Default Cym Mos virus?

Hello everyone,

as you may recall from before, a few suspicious spots had shown up on my cymbidium which i suspected to be the c.m.v. but you guys helped me figure out that it wasnt based on my pics and descriptions.

now another problem showed up. its been about a month since the plant stopped flowering and already had a 5 month old seed pod on it. a couple weeks ago, though, a black spot bout the size of a quarter showed up right next to one of the bracts on the spike. i thought nothing of it.

today i watered again and the spot had moved further up and down the spike. i didn't hesitate to chop it off for the sake of the plant even though it meant sacrificing my seed pod . oh well. any guess on what it could have been?
