Tetramicra Elegans - Orchid Board

Can someone tell me how to care for this one, any pics of one in bloom? It is a new purchase mounted on fir bark. Seemed interesting to me, and I hadn't heard the name.

are you sure it's fir bark? most mounts are cork.
in your area, it could probably grow outside without any special care. check here for a picture, and a description of how Jay Pfahl grows his

Thanks Kip, It has a pretty flower doesn't it, I wonder why it isn't more popular but I'll look forward to a beautiful bloom one day. Doesn't seem like too many people have this one. The foliage certainly is sparse. hope I don't kill it before it shows its beauty.

I have one of these that is mounted. It gets fairly bright light and I water daily during the summer.

I bid on this plant way too early, thinking some one would surely outbid me. No one did. So now I own it. I know it comes from the Carribean. Is this an Oncidium? It looks like a Dendrobium but that could not be. Maybe a Cattleya? ISOPE gives an unusual description of this plant. Normally their descriptions are one, paragraph length, sentence. Can anyone tell what alliance this belongs?

It's in the Cattleya alliance.

I grew this for a short period a few years back but it was lost in a storm and I've never replaced it.

I had it mounted. I grew it in the very high end of catt light - even giving it some direct sun. Watered frequently because it was mounted and fertilized when I ferted everything else. It was a young plant and I don't recall whether I bloomed it or not but I do remember it grew well.

I don't know why I never replaced it...I guess something else caught my eye and I forgot about it. ??

Its a Cattleua! It has to be the most unusual Cattleya member of the alliance. Thanks for your description Katrina. It is a rare plant indeed.
