It sure is, now I've noticed what look like new stems on two of my other rescues.

Doing the happy dance!

The plant was a rescue which I think I got about 6 months ago. It was rather beat up at the time and only had a few leaves and the crown was damaged as you can see in the pics. It put up a spike and the big basal keiki sat on the top of it. Then about a month ago it just started throwing out spikes and growth all over the place. I haven't done anything special with it, I water it about every 7-10 days with weak fertilizer.

It's lovely.

I hate to be a party pooper though, but it looks from your pics that the second growth originates from the crown of the mother plant.

If that's the case, then you have a terminal growth--meaning the mother plant isn't ever going to flower again.

I hope that's not the case for you. it's an otherwise fantastically gorgeous plant.

I see a new crown growing with lots of new leaves but I do not see a spike emerging out of it to make it a terminal growth the old crown does look finished as far as growing itself but the side growth will continue I think with no problem.I do see two spikes on it below its crown but not terminaly.

Keep it up and show us lots of blooms

Hi, the main spike isn't coming out of the crown, it's coming out of the axle of the leaves about 2 below the crown.

I've taken a few more pics which I will post shortly.

Here are the latest pics.

And would you believe another node on the original spike has now become active?! Look at the node right at the bottom of the original spike next to the short white root.

Here are a couple of close ups of the new growth

This seems to be one very happy plant!~

Default Further developements

My dynamo little Phal is still pulling new growths out of the hat.

The branch growing at the top of the orginal spike seems to be branchin it's self.

The growth at the bottom of the original spike continues to emerge.

A new spike seems to be emerging from the mother plant a couple of axles below the crown.

In all this baby seems to have 8 growth points going on at the moment! LOL

I'm obviously doing something she likes!
