Weakly-weekly watering

I recently moved to SW Florida and started to use Dynamite for the first time. My understanding was that Dynamite was 'less' effected by temperature than previous slow release fertilizers, and thus delivered fertilizer more by water application than by temperature?
I am using a palm/citrus formulation (10-2-14) per Martin Motes recommendation.
What I'm concerned about is adding Dynamite to pots in July/August, when the slow release might occur over 9 months and continue to fertilize through winter when normally I would be cutting back on fertilizer at that time of year?
Does anyone have any thoughts? Tony

The growing environment of most orchids is nutrient poor.
Thus, it is generally better to under-fertilize than over-fertilize one's plants.
Fertilizer is also best given when plants are actively growing and can burn the root systems if given during rest periods.
I am of the school where fertilizing is done very infrequently and my plants also grow/bloom fine.
Would they grow better if I fertilized more frequently? Maybe...
