Phal flowers wilting and falling off, black on undersides of leaves
I'd really appreciate any advice I can get with my new Mother's Day orchid. Within a day the flowers folded up, and they are falling off. The leaves have black edges on the undersides and black spots. I'm thinking it was overwatered, I took it out of the pot, removed about a quarter of the moss, tried to dry out the rest of the moss and then repotted. I didn't have any new moss so I used what I semi-dried out. Is there anything else I can do? Should I get new moss and start over? I have pics that I'm trying to figure out how to attach.
Thank you!

When you repotted it how did the roots look? Were they firm and green, silvery white or were they soft, mushy and kind of yellow with black spots?
Pictures will help. It happened to me with one phal and it was just the stress of being moved.
Even if its root rot, the plant can still be saved.

Hi Nibbler!
The roots were firm and green closest to the plant, but ended in black strings so I cut off the lower ends of those. There were a couple that looked relatively healthy, so I left them alone. I haven't figured out how to add pictures, but I did see that I could start an album so I put pics of the phal in an album that says Sick Phal. ??? I've downloaded pics of it, I see the insert image button, but when it asks for the URL how do I direct it to the pics I've downloaded? Or is there a self help section that will explain?
Thank you!

The photo's are a little unclear. is that mold or a fungus growing under your leaves? If the roots are green and healthy its not root rot, or by the sounds of it a bad case of root rot. It seems to be planted in moss, this can make it difficult to regulate the watering and make sure the plant is not over watered.
It could be as simple the plant didnt like the stress of being moved. Do you have it in a cold draft?
I think there is a section on how to put up photos in the top section on the forum.

Hey, figured out the picture thing. Attached pics of the roots to the last entry. Now that I took the plant apart, yeah, there is quite a bit of yellow??? Root rot?

Your roots don't look like they are rotten. The light tan color is probably due to being packed in damp moss. The roots look firm are they?

Some aren't bad but some are yellow and kind of soft most have brown withered ends, couple have black mushy spots. I'm also concerned about the black mold like stuff on the undersides of the leaves.

I'm deciding I don't like that moss at all.

I don't care for moss at all either.
Is that bottom leaf the only one with the black spots? It looks like it actually rests on the moss and could be staying a bit damp. Do the spots come through to the top of the leaf? If it were mine I would probably treat it with Gentian violet or snip the leaf off.

The bottom leaf was the worst, but they all have black spots on the undersides. The black can be rubbed off to an extent. On one of the bigger leaves the black isn't just surface, it goes into the leaf.
