I try to check regularly so I can get a good price on unburned orchids but it never fails to be the biggest, most beautiful orchid that has been put on the top shelf and scorched!
Thats awful, I am sure some of those plants can be salvaged, but your right, they rather toss them in the garbage, than to discount them and give them a chance for life and flowers. I sure would think they would have someone more knowledgeable taking care of all those plants, this same Home Depot I noticed once when they were watering there plants inside that they used a hose with a sprinkler at the end, OK!! that works, except on the African Violets which they soaked the plant and leafs, good way to kill a Violet.

That would be nice if its a spike, thats 1 of my unidentified plants, it went out of bloom before I got an interest in my plant types.

Oh! Just looked it up and it's beautiful! That lower lip of the flowers look like some kind of exotic bird in flight! What color is yours Jeffery?

Will I went back today to The Home Depot, I was taking pictures and was questioned, I was told I coulden't take any pictures, so I told the woman that approached me and said to her I was a member of an Orchid Society and that I had informed my group of the plant abuse, so I was taking pictures so we can bring smoke down the managers arse....hahaha after, so she went and got the manager, I asked her what were her plans for the plants, she said they were going to throw them, i told her there was salvagable plants and some were still good, I asked her if I could find some how much would she sale them for, she told me she can offer them as damaged at $1.44 each. I got 5 and gave away 2, so they made up tags and placed them on all the plants, $1.44 I was late going back to work from my lunch break, but it was worth it. pictured is the plants as I found them and the 3 I kept.

Yes!! I was lucky, some that were in the middle of the mess was shaded from there dying brothers, so I managed to find some good ones, I got first pick on them... hehehe, even before they tagged them with the damaged price.
