Keiki on Vanda Male
Default Keiki on Vanda

This morning I've noticed that my Vanda is producing keiki, though it's very very small but very visible it's a keiki.

Does it mean my Vanda is healthy to produce keiki? or something else? How should I remove them when it grows?

Thank you.

Its probably a mature vanda right? I don't think it means anything abnormal. You can separate them after the keiki has grown to the point of having its' own roots, 3 or more before separating.

Yes it's a mature Vanda and bloomed 3 times already.
Thank you Swamper..I should wait untill the keiki matures enough before separating to the mother plant.

or you could just leave it on. Why remove it? Have seen at the Botanic garden some Vandas taht are a nice tangled mess. Pretty great,

Yes I agree with Stefano. Personally I don't remove them and have a few, beautiful (to me) tangled messes. The only time I would remove it is to give it as a present.

Thank you guys..I will wait until it grows a little bit and let's see if it doesn't mess up with the mother plant. Then that's the time I should decide whether to cut or not.

Thank you for the ideas..
