Burnt Orchid in Hot Water!! Help!
Default Burnt Orchid in Hot Water!! Help!

So i read that you were not supposed to water with cold water but with room temperture. Some how my facet went from warm to TOO WARM when I was filling a bath so water my mounted orchid on and it BURNT the ends of about 1/3 of the roots and one leaf. The roots are shriveled were burnt and brown. The one leaf is brown but still moist. What should I do? Leave it alone? Cut off the burnt part? I'm a total novice...obviously....so any help would be great!

Just continue to grow it properly, and it may bounce back in time if it's not too badly damaged.

You can remove the dead parts too. Be careful not to cut into living tissue.

I would agree with King. I think all you can do is keep caring for it as normal and remove the dead tissue.

I would probably advise always mixing and testing the water temp before putting the orchid in. I alway mix room temp water in the sink for my mounted Milt and I get the water to the right temp, testing it with my hand, before I put the orchid in. That way I know I've not made a mistake with the temp.
