5 NEW ROOTS ON MY PHAL! Female
Default 5 NEW ROOTS ON MY PHAL!

I've got a small phal. at home that has been pretty quiet for a while. Recently a new leaf has started to grow and now I've noticed 5 new bumps that I believe are new roots. Does this mean I can expect a new spike soon?

well I would not equate new roots with a spike ...bUt It cant hurt thats for sure and its possable but I would not take it for a sign that it is a sure thing.

At any rate good growing and with good roots and new leaves in time you will for sure.

I agree with John. New roots are great because they will help the overall health and strength of the Phal. A stronger Phal is always good for blooming, but you can't necessarily expect one to follow in any particular time scale after the other.

With many Phals they will flower in the autum/fall through to spring as they like a slight temperature drop to trigger flowering. On the other hand new roots tend to appear as the weather gets warmer and the plants are kicked in to growth.
