Dendrobium watering confusion Male
Default Dendrobium watering confusion

I bought Four Dendrobium for a month now, they are all evergreen Dendrobium. I Made a lot of research about the proper care in the internet but i am really confused, since different websites suggests differently. One suggest that it should be kept moist all the time, the other suggests it should be nearly dry before watering.

My Dend sit in a large coconut husk, and every time I water them it last about 3 to 4 days before the coconut husk gets nearly dry. ( I am living in a tropical country and the weather is 34 C with 50% humidity).

If I follow the one that it should be kept moist all the time, the middle of the coconut husk doesn't dry fast and it will give another water which i think will cost rots.

If I follow the second one, it should be nearly dry between watering, some said that the roots might get dormant.

I would like to ask your help which is which? I know you can share your experience and it will be very helpful for the beginner like me.

Thank you.

Bren

It's okay to let them dry out a little.

Yes mine is an evergreen type (well 3 of them are, I'm still learning to care for the 4th which isn't).
