Default Nice surprise when repotting.

I am new to Phal's and have 7 on my kitchen window sill. They are all Noids, 4 were 'rescues' from the reduced rack at Bunnings Warehouse, 2 were bought full price at Bunnings and the last one I bought when I was in hospital. The rescues were in very bad condition, I wasn't even sure they'd survive but they all have and are getting healthier.

The one I bought from the hospital florist is just gorgeous. It had dozens of tiny deep purple blooms, I got it in full bloom in January and it's only just finished. So I thought it was a good time to repot it and what do you know????? There were 2 totally seperate plants in the pot! Yeehaaa! I'm so easily pleased!

When it was flowering there was one large thick stem coming up with lots of branches and dozens of blooms. Then down at the side was another smaller stem with a few blooms on it. This was a seperate plant. So now, even though this Phal cost me $60, I have two good strong healthy plants!

Woohoo! It's always a joy when your orchids bloom for months. But it's another joy entirely when you discover you've got more 'chids than you thought!

Wow, that's definitely a pleasant surprise. And congratulations on what sounds like a good job reviving your rescues.

Yes, they seem to enjoy life on my kitchen window sill, it gets morning sun but doesn't get too hot.
