I have an Encyclia fragrans that I bought in October, BS. I have had it under pretty bright T5 lights on a humidity tray and have watered it 2x week, fertilized it weakly weekly and otherwise let it grow. Today I noticed a strange wrinkling of some of the leaves, on different parts of the plant- two of the leaves were even folded together.
What causes this? Is it a problem? The plant looks really healthy and is growing vigorously. Should I worry?
Not enough water for both the Enc. fragrans (Connie), and the Oncs (Izzie).
The Enc can take quite a bit of water. Up the watering to 3 to 4 times a week, and you'll see the difference in the subsequent growths. Root growth will be stronger with more water as well.
