Cool Well I must be doing something right...

Because my Onc. Twinkle 'Little stars' has four new growths starting!

Totally excited, because this was my first onc., and I really underwatered the poor thing the first few weeks I had it. I've now had it for four months or so.
Got it with a bacterial infection in one bulb which stopped spreading after treating with peroxide and packing with cinnamon when I got it home. Since I've been watering more lately, I've started packing it again just in case.

And to think, that infected bulb that I was going to cut off, has put out two of the four keikis!

In any case, had to share my excitement. This is the first time that I've had so much new growth on an orchid besides leaves or roots.

Anyone think I should repot now that it's done flowering, and some of the new growths are pressed against the side?
I'm posting pictures of the babies and the pot in general.

don't mind pic #4, the state of those bulbs is not something I'm proud of.

Great news

I can't help on whether you should repot. Still not sure about how to grow Oncs myself.

Good growing! As far as repotting yes you should repot it when you have a chance. I would say do it now since you have new growths starting to come up, the new growths will take hold very quickly.

Now is a perfect time to repot. With that flush of new growth those new bulbs will be sending out new roots soon. Better to do it now rather than risk breaking off those new roots later. I find my Onc. alliance plants do better in find grade bark or CHC. It retains water a little longer, and keeps those fine roots from drying out too fast. I have also had good success with Onc. alliance plants in semi-hydro.

Thank you so much everyone! It really has been satisfying to have something go right.

I will repot then, as soon as I get the chance. I have some fine bark mix with a little perlite.

Should I graduate it to a slightly larger pot, or just re-situate it in this one to give the new guys some room?
