Red face The bulbs on mine are so wrinkled

Izzie,
Your baby looks so healthy and beautiful. I bought one a couple of months ago that is not doing so well, can't figure out what it wants. I have humidity at 65-70% I water it once a week because it looks like it is under watered, but almost all the flowers have fallen off now. Poor things dried out. now there is a little bulb sprouting, but it has turned an ugly shade of yellow brown and kinda soft looking. The bulbs are so wrinkled too. I wonder what is wrong with it? I will try to upload again later.

Is that cause to worry, or should it be fine?
It should be fine. By the way when I grew in a bark mix before, I never presoaked the media. I always potted dry and watered after.

I am not wanting alarm you. But one of the older back bulbs looks like it might have a rot set it. The Larger winkle puesdobulbs looks like they are under watered. I am not sure if you are underwatering or if you might have bad roots. (Underwatering or bad roots will present the same way with wrinkled bulbs) It would be good idea for you to pull the plant and check the roots. Healthy roots will usually turn green when watered. I would like some one to comfirm the rot theory on the old back bulb.

I'd agree with that back bulb rotting....
If you haven't already, you might try making your own thread about it to get more views marissa.

I have had the same thing going on with my Oncidium Degarmoara Winter Wonderland. I was using fungicide as it was getting plenty of water, but what seemed to do the trick was adding Superthrive to its diet.

I was watering with fertilizer once every two weeks according to the ferts intructions. I cut it way back and began watering with fert once weakly (weekly) with Superthrive additive. the bulbs plumped right up and took on a better colour.
