Well I was meaning a gradual step up in pot size but your probally right SFC the potting material does look very good still. And gabiborza like Tropicgirl said you may get rewarded again off the same spike so dont cut it till it fully turns brown and dies.

Smile Thank you

Thank you very much for your answers and your advises. I'm really glad to know that my plants are ok, and I'll be more careful in the future. These are my first orchids, and you know what they say, you learn from mistakes. We'll keep in touch. Have a great day. Gabriel Borza.

Question reblooming phal

Some of you said I shouldn't cutt off the spike, and it may rebloom. I read some articles on the web saying that the spike should be cut a few inches up from the third node. Should I do that? Because my phal seems to be reblooming. I'll send you some pictures, so you can tell if I'm right or not.

I never cut the spike unless it has turned brown or the plant is weak. On some of my phals the "reblooming" spikes have fewer flowers, but on most of them the reblooming spikes have as many and as large flowers as the first spike. I did have a Malibu Leopard that bloomed for almost 1 1/2 years at which time I cut the green original spike because I felt the phal should probably rest and I wanted to repot it.
