Thanks Ted! I will look into Prime Agra and the S/H... I love orchids and this orchid planting is all very new and exciting to me.

Rosie-Thanks for the encouragement ;-) I really hope my poor orchid will not get dropped again, haha.

Thanks Ted!

Should I re-pot with Prime Aqua in S/H container once my orchid stops blooming AND outgrows the current plastic container? Seems like it's growing very well right now I just don't want to make any moves to jeopardize anything.

Talking Watering

Hello,
Just give the plant a good drink with the water that you mixed up. You can use the rest the next time you water or you can figure how to dilute it down more for your watering container so it is always fresh. Do not worry about repoting it now especially since it is in bloom it is normal for them to "crawl" out of their pots. I personally like the plastic pots to grow them in and you may place them in decorative pots to display them in while they are in bloom.
Good luck
Bonnie

I dropped mine when I first brought it home, so put it on a nice low table out of the way... then knocked it off while putting a bag down... then knocked it off with the hose on the vacume cleaner while clearing the mess from knocking it off the second time... I was so anoyed with myself

Since you bought this at a grocery store. I would check the roots that are inside the pot now. Grocery stores are notorious for having plants with bad roots. If several are green and firm then wait until it warms up and is in active growth. If they are brown and squishy cut off the bad roots and repot as soon as possible.

Just remember expect to loose roots when they are converted to S/H. Some might survive if they where grown wet. If they were grown on the drier side the old probably wont survive. This is why it is better wait until it is warmer.

I have converted several Spring through Fall with great success. Just remember if you have questions simply ask. Don't be shy.
