Actually, one more thing- once an orchid is in full bloom, will it hurt anything to put it in a shadier location (like farther into the room on a table for display) until it's done?

I have not grown stuartiana yet. If it blooms like schilleriana, pretty much all at once, then no it would not hurt it. But if it blooms like amabilis or aphrodite, which continually produces buds over a long period, then yes it would stop bud production.
