Plants look really nice--good growing! I agree that the dens would be better off in smaller pots, I made the mistake of overpotting my dens when I first got them. Although I can't be sure, I think I see a bump on the top of the stem of the den in the last set of pictures--could that the start of a new flower spike??? Mine start that way.
Have you considered using the clear slotted plastic pots? They are really great, I can see what's going on with the roots. If the chids are top heavy, you can always use a cash pot. In any case, make sure your pots have good drainage.
As for the phal in the second set of pictures with the bite marks, I have several phals with similar marks. I'm sure they are bite marks, and I'm also sure the number and size of bite marks are growing. I have'nt been able to find the culprit though. I have them in the house on humidity trays. I inspected all the trays, repotted the affected phals, and found nothing! I'm sure there is some critter with a good set of choppers lurking with my chids, but I can't find it. I'm begining to think it's nocturnal??? Problem is that I'm not!
