I hate to say it, I find it disgustingly cruel that you could turn any animal/creature in to jewelery and attach it to yourself and yet facinatingly cool that you could do it. I think there is a difference, like pet mice and wild mice/rodents. You know where they have been. The same for the cockroach.

I am shuddering at the thought of it crawling. Mother of god.

I was just bold. I bought another two Phals at lunch. They are so pretty. I will post a picture later.

Normally I would agree with you on the jewelry thing. But these guys are usually used as feeder insects for reptiles. I bet if that roach could talk it would be happy to be fed and cared for with crystals glued to it rather than being lunch. Crunch, crunch....

Please post some pics of your new phals! I had to resist a bunch on clearance at Lowes the other day. Hubbie reminded me I won't have as much $ to spend at Redlands if I keep buying rescues!

I wonder how many Hollywood fashionista's will ditch their teacup Chihuahuas for these little critters! I think I'd rather remain unfashionable! Gives me the willies just thinking about having one of those crawl all over me. Bleah!
Thats disgusting!! when your cockroaches tail wags, it means hes happy How many times do I have to tell you to stay off the dinner table!! let me be the 1st to invent the cockroach leash

I really hate cockroaches, but I find turning live one's into jewellery to adorn some socialites neck totally gross and inhuman. Soon they'll be surgically attaching bales to the back of teacup dogs necks so you can hang them around your neck. Jeeeezzzzz!

Yes, Oz is full of things that can kill ya dead! LOL Happily most of them stay in the bush and outback!

I think the most disgusting fact is the living for 9 days after decapitating it.

Anyway I have repotted my new babies. Here are some photos. Picture 1 is my new baby. Picture 2 is my first baby, I came home to find the new spike had finally opened its first flower and the 3rd picture is hopefully my new babies as I am going to try flasking. I also found two keiki's today. Its a good day today.

Very nice! Keep us updated on the seed pod, it's something I've been thinking about doing myself.

Nibbler, is that your seed pod? Wow! I've never seen one of those! I can't wait to see how they do! Good luck to you! Keep us posted.

Where does the seed pod grow from? Does it grow from the flower that you pollinated?

Believe it or not...they already have a sling type thing that you can slide the dog's legs through...it supports them under their belly and zips or velcros across their back. It has handles or a shoulder strap so you can actually carry the dog like a purse.

What is wrong with these people?! IT'S A DOG!!!...LET IT WALK!!!

I really wonder how many of those roach brooches they have sold. I can't see a socialite being the kind of person to want to take care of a bug. I'll bet they don't live long under those conditions.

Oh, lots of things eat roaches. I used to work at our local zoo when I was a kid and they actually keep roaches as feeders for a ton of animals!

There are 10 katrillion of them because some of them can have like 10,000 young in a year!

I'm glad I live in the north where it gets cold in the winter. I've never seen a cockroach outside...and the only place I've seen them inside was in NYC where I guess you just can't get rid of them completely. I'm glad I live in the stix!
