New roots growing on old roots? Female
Default New roots growing on old roots?

Hello everybody,

Recently I noticed that 2 of my moth orchids have new fresh light green roots about 1 cm long growing on the tip of a couple of the old roots. Is there a reason why its like that and not growing completely new roots? Thanks!

it's called retipping, it's normal, and a good thing, often a sign of renewed vigor. hope fully new roots will follow.

Phal roots if given correct culture will grow for a very long time, several years.
